Where to find the the villa

Casa Cielos Azules is located on a bluff only 150 meters from the beautiful, lush Pacific Ocean. The area is unspoiled and unpopulated, so to navigate the unfamiliar terrain may take some careful planning.  Below are some tips, and thorough directions for various routes, to ensure ease of travel. Directions: Know Your Way Around

The vacation home is secluded, yet still conveniently only about an hour drive from Liberia International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica. And for those who love mountain views, there is also the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José, Costa Rica; the airfare tends to be cheaper, and though the drive is longer, 3.5 hours, it includes gorgeous views of the mountains.  A new expressway has just been finished from San José to near Puntarenas, as well. The routes from Liberia, San José, and where they merge, are as follows:
From Liberia International Airport:

- Turn right out of the airport and right (south) on Route 21
- Take Route 21 all the way to Santa Cruz 
- Just before a small bridge leading into Santa Cruz, on the right you will see a bus stop and a smaller road #152
- Turn right at this road
- There will be a sign directing you to Playa Junquillal
- Follow this road for about 18 km to a town called "27 de Abril"
- Then follow the signs to Playa Junquillal (here onwards the roads are very new, complete with bike path, and unequaled in Costa Rica)
- Continue straight to Paraiso, pass the soccer pitch, and at the stop sign make a left turn.
- Follow this road to Playa Junquillal
From Juan Santamaría International Airport:

- Try to leave before 3 pm to get there before dark, as there is minimal to no lighting when driving to this secluded, unpopulated area
- Take Route 1 past the airport and there will be signs to get to the road to Caldera and Punteranas
-  take Autopista del Sol toward Puntarenas–then join Route 1 (This is the better route)
- Travel on Route 1 to signs for Puente La Amistad (the large bridge over the Tempisque River)
- Turn left and follow signs to Nicoya and then left to Santa Cruz
- When you reach Santa Cruz, you'll see signs for the city center (Banco Nacional) 
- You may want to stop here to stock up on groceries at on of many super markets
- Or you can go past the signs for the city center, cross the small bridge, and make an immediate left towards Playa Junquillal
Where the Paths Merge:

- Once on the road towards Playa Junquillal, this road winds past Hotel Iguanazul, Hotel Hibiscus, and Palenque Diria
-When you reach the beach parking lot make a left (or you can even stop for a drink with locals who are also helpful with directions!)
- Go past the Junquillal Eco Resort and make a left turn as the main road goes to the left
- Continue to the fork in the road, go right at the fork , go down the hill. 
- Look for the Casa Cielos Azules sign on the right at the gate to the house. It is about 150 yards down this road on the right.

 If you arrive at Las Brisas de Mar condominiums you have gone to far. If you go any further you will be swimming.
